Dr. Eirini Kapogianni earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and completed a three-year postgraduate specialization in Orthodontics at Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf, Germany. She trained under Professors Drescher and Wilmes, pioneers of non-compliant and invisible orthodontic treatments and inventors of the Benefit System, gaining advanced expertise in skeletal anchorage techniques.
She served as a Research Associate at the University of Düsseldorf, focusing on Class III orthodontic treatment with Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs). Her doctoral research (Dr. med. dent.), “Effects of Coupling of Orthodontic Mini Implants on Their Primary Stability,” contributed important insights into orthodontic biomechanics and skeletal anchorage.
Following her training, Dr. Kapogianni worked for four years as Head Orthodontist at 360 Grad Zahnspange, one of Germany’s largest private dental centers, providing comprehensive orthodontic care for children and adults using aligners, lingual orthodontics, and skeletal anchorage systems.
In 2019, she returned to Athens and founded her private orthodontic clinic, focused on advanced, patient-centered care. That same year, she established Back to Greece, an initiative supporting the country’s brain gain movement, which has grown into a professional community of more than 20,000 members.
Dr. Kapogianni is an active member of the DGKFO, AAO, and EOS, and regularly lectures internationally on contemporary orthodontic topics, with a special focus on temporary anchorage devices.
