Dr. José Carlos Martins da Rosa is a Brazilian dentist, researcher, author, and internationally recognized expert in prosthodontics, periodontics, and surgical implantology. He earned his DDS degree from the Federal University of Santa Maria in Rio Grande do Sul in 1988 and went on to complete postgraduate training in Periodontics at the São Paulo Association of Dental Surgeons (APCD) in 1991. He further specialized in Prosthodontics at the Center for Dental Research São Leopoldo Mandic in Campinas, Brazil, where he also earned a Master of Science in Prosthodontics in 2005 and a PhD in Oral Implantology in 2013.

Dr. da Rosa maintains a private practice in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, focusing on complex restorative procedures, periodontal therapy, and advanced surgical implant treatments. He is best known as the creator of the Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration (IDR) technique, an innovative approach that enables extraction, implant placement, provisional restoration, and simultaneous reconstruction of bone and soft tissues in a single surgical session — significantly reducing treatment time and patient morbidity compared to traditional protocols. His IDR method has been published in scientific journals and described in his widely translated textbook Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration: Immediately Loaded Implants in Compromised Sockets, which is available in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and Mandarin.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. da Rosa is an active lecturer and educator on implantology and reconstructive dentistry, regularly presenting courses and workshops internationally and at his own training center, Rosa Educação, in Caxias do Sul. He has contributed numerous articles to peer‑reviewed journals and continues to lead research and professional development in implant dentistry and related fields.
