Carbide Crown Cutters with BUSCH Diamond Cut
These versatile carbide instruments provide reliable, efficient cutting across a broad spectrum of materials. Ideal for metal frameworks, they combine universal applicability with precision performance. The BUSCH Diamond Cut geometry ensures controlled material removal with minimal vibration, reducing operator fatigue and extending instrument life.
Precious and Non-Precious Alloy Crown Cutters
Alongside the universal Diamond Cut crown cutters, Busch makes carbide crown cutters cut for a specific alloy: the double-cut 21RX and 23RX for precious metal alloys, and the fine crosscut 34, 36R and 38R for non-precious metal alloys.
ZIRAMANT Crown Cutters
Specially developed for extremely hard and resistant zirconia frameworks, the ZIRAMANT series features a unique grit engineered to deliver controlled, effective cutting without excessive heat generation or premature instrument wear. This collection includes the ZIRAMANT cylinder and taper round crown cutters (Busch No. 6880Z 014 and 6855Z 014) for zirconia crowns; they also appear in the ZIRAMANT Zirconia Bur collection alongside the other ZIRAMANT burs. The carbide crown cutters on this page are for metal and PFM crowns.
Available Shapes and Sizes
- Cylindrical and conical (taper) shapes with a rounded end, in head sizes 010 (1.0 mm) and 012 (1.2 mm) for the carbide crown cutters and 014 (1.4 mm) for the ZIRAMANT crown cutters, all on FG shanks
- Three different working lengths to suit varying clinical and laboratory needs
Key Benefits
- Universal applicability across multiple frame materials
- Exceptional smooth running and secure guidance
- High cutting efficiency with reduced vibration
- Durable carbide construction for metal and PFM crowns
- ZIRAMANT diamond crown cutters for zirconia crowns
- Precision German engineering since 1905
Together, the universal, precious-alloy and non-precious-alloy carbide ranges form a comprehensive Crown Cutter Bur collection for metal and PFM crowns, with the ZIRAMANT crown cutters covering zirconia. Elevate your workflow with instruments that combine innovation, reliability, and outstanding cutting performance.
Clinical Use
Crown cutters section metal, PFM and zirconia crowns and bridges so they can be removed: the bur cuts a slot through the crown, which is then spread and lifted off. Choose the universal Diamond Cut figures for all metals and PFM, the double-cut RX figures for precious alloys, the fine crosscut figures for non-precious alloys and the ZIRAMANT diamond crown cutters for zirconia; all are FG for the high-speed handpiece.
Care and Reconditioning
Busch rotary instruments are reusable: clean, disinfect and sterilize them between patients according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and replace a bur once it dulls or shows damage. Our Dental Bur Reprocessing & Sterilization Guide walks through the workflow for carbide, diamond and steel instruments.
