Oral Surgery Instruments

This is the general oral and maxillofacial surgical armamentarium — everything used to gain access, manage soft tissue, control bleeding and close. Instruments for placing implants and regenerating bone live on a separate page. Sections follow the order of a surgical tray: raise the flap with a periosteal elevator, hold it with a retractor, remove bone with a chisel or rongeur, control the field with hemostats, and close with a needle holder and suture forceps. Where a named pattern exists — Freer, Molt, Buser, Obwegeser, Kocher, Adson, Metzenbaum, Castroviejo — it is listed under its eponym, because that is how surgeons ask for it. Helmut Zepf's Supercut scissors carry one micro-serrated and one razor blade for cleaner soft-tissue division, and the Onyx-coated line offers a non-reflective surface that reduces glare under operatory lighting.
