Which Extra Fine Diamond Do You Need?

Match the shape to the surface you are finishing — flame and torpedo for margins and chamfers, football for occlusal anatomy, cylinder and taper for axial walls, round and bud for cusps and lab contours — then the head size. Every instrument below is extra fine grit (yellow ring); the FG burs are for the high-speed handpiece, the RA Perio Pro burs for the contra-angle, and the HP burs for the straight handpiece.

Clinical Use

Extra fine (yellow ring) diamonds are the last rotary step before polishing: they refine margins, smooth composite and ceramic surfaces after fine-grit finishing and remove the scratches left by coarser grits so the polisher has less to do. Care and Reconditioning
