Which FG Bur Do You Need?

With several hundred friction grip instruments in this collection, the practical way in is by shape, grit or job. Each sub-collection below lists its instruments by Busch and US number; every product title also carries its grit and ring color.

Clinical Use

FG instruments do the preparation work at turbine speeds: carbides for cutting enamel, dentine, amalgam and old crowns, diamonds for crown and bridge reduction and cavity preparation, and finishing carbides and extra fine diamonds for margins and restorations. Run them with water spray at the speed recommended for the instrument type — see our Dental Bur Speed Chart — and choose the long or extra-long shank where access past the handpiece head is the limiting factor.

Care and Reconditioning
