Clinical Use of the Desmotome

Atraumatic extraction: the thin blade is walked around the root in the ligament space, cutting the fibres that anchor it.
Straight, mesial and distal bending: #0 straight for anterior and premolar roots, the bent versions for the mesial and distal aspects of posterior roots.
Interchangeable versions: the M4 × 0.5 mm inserts fit the Zepf handle systems and are replaced when the blade dulls.

Care and Reconditioning

Zepf surgical instruments are resharpened, re-aligned and reconditioned by our sharpening and reconditioning service when the working end dulls. Clean, disinfect and sterilize between patients.

Warranty and Our Guarantee

Every Zepf instrument on this page carries a one-year Helmut Zepf Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship (Zepf extraction forceps carry a lifetime warranty). And because an instrument can only be judged in the hand, you have 60 days to return it for any reason — even after you have used it. Try it on real cases; if it is not the instrument for you, send it back.
