Clinical Use
The osteotome inserts are tapped or pressed through the osteotomy in increasing diameters to condense soft bone laterally, elevate the sinus floor through a crestal approach and expand a narrow ridge before implant placement, which preserves bone that drilling would remove and improves primary stability. Exchanging tips on the same handle lets the surgeon step through diameters without a second set.
Care and Reconditioning
Clean, disinfect and sterilize these instruments between patients following the manufacturer’s validated reprocessing instructions and the symbols on each product’s packaging — the ZEPFcare wash basket keeps handles and inserts together through the cycle. Our Dental Hand Instrument Reprocessing & Sterilization Guide covers the general workflow for Helmut Zepf instruments.
