The PI-Series Osteotome Set (Helmut Zepf No. 47.937.00) is a screw-type osteotome system whose inserts couple to a shock-absorbing RA-Hex screwdriver handle (47.502.10): the three screw inserts (47.937.05, .10, .11) are advanced by rotation and the three graduated osteotome inserts (47.937.12–.14) can be tapped with a mallet. Every component on this page is made by Helmut Zepf in Germany and ships from our US warehouse.

Clinical Use
The set is used for crestal sinus floor elevation, ridge expansion, bone condensation, and implant site preparation, especially in moderate to dense bone. The site is opened with the Ø 1 mm screw insert and widened step by step — screw inserts by rotation, then the depth-graduated osteotome inserts by mallet — until the planned implant diameter is reached; the beat-absorbing RA-Hex coupling damps vibration and hand fatigue during mallet work.
Care and Reconditioning
Unscrew the inserts from the handle for reprocessing, clean, disinfect, and sterilize them in the fitted tray, and check the RA-Hex couplings and graduation marks before each use. Our Dental Hand Instrument Reprocessing & Sterilization Guide covers the general workflow for Helmut Zepf instruments.
