Whether you are preparing full-coverage restorations or refining margin detail, the cool diamant diamond dental bur provides the cutting efficiency and dimensional consistency required for predictable clinical outcomes.
Independent Research: Test Winner at Innsbruck
In an independent laboratory study at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Busch’s COOL DIAMANT design achieved the highest cutting performance in both test series — outperforming same-shape, same-grit diamonds from up to ten competing manufacturers. Under standardized conditions (200,000 rpm turbine, constant 152 g load, 10–40 minutes of continuous cutting on 99.5% Al₂O₃ ceramic), the COOL DIAMANT instrument removed significantly more material than burs from Diatech, Edenta, Horico and Komet (p < 0.05), and in the second series the standard Busch diamond placed second only to its cooling-groove sibling. The authors concluded that instruments with cooling grooves deliver higher grinding performance and need replacing less often.

The torpedo tip is designed for chamfer margins, blending the axial wall into a smooth, well-defined finish line; the gold COOL DIAMANT head carries cooling grooves that keep heat down while cutting. The medium coating balances removal rate and surface quality, making it the all-round grit for the main preparation. The 1.6 mm head is a general-purpose size for routine crown and cavity preparation.
