Busch has made rotary instruments in Germany for more than a century, and its podiatry range covers every routine treatment in a foot care practice: reducing thickened and mycotic nails, removing hyperkeratosis, clearing the nail sulcus and finishing skin and nail surfaces. Busch podiatry burs use the standard HP straight-handpiece shank that podiatry drills accept, and every instrument is manufactured under ISO 13485 certification. This page groups the range by procedure, with a separate section for high-risk and diabetic patients.

Instruments for high-risk and diabetic patients
Busch KR diamonds have rounded edges on the working part, which lowers the risk of nicking the skin during treatment of diabetic, anticoagulated and other high-risk patients. KERA ceramic cutters cut cleanly with less heat build-up and resist clogging with nail dust. Single-use sanding caps on a reusable holder keep callus work hygienic between patients.

Care and reprocessing
Clean, disinfect and sterilize podiatry burs the same way as dental rotary instruments. Use a bur stand during reprocessing so cutting edges never touch each other, and retire any bur that has lost its cut.
Frequently asked questions
Will Busch podiatry burs fit my podiatry drill?
Yes. Busch podiatry burs use the standard HP straight-handpiece shank (2.35 mm) that podiatry micromotors and drills accept.
Which bur is best for thick fungal toenails?
A coarse cross-cut tungsten carbide or a coarse diamond removes thickened nail plate quickly. Finish with a finer diamond or a KERA ceramic cutter to smooth the surface.
What are KR rounded-edge diamonds?
KR diamonds have rounded edges on the working part. They are designed for treating diabetic and other high-risk patients, where an accidental cut to the skin must be avoided.
Why use a ceramic bur on nails?
KERA ceramic cutters stay cooler than metal burs and resist clogging with nail dust, so they cut consistently through a full treatment.
