• Caries and margin detection: a light, exploratory stroke with the tip; catch or resistance indicates a defect or calculus.
• Calculus detection: subgingival calculus is felt as a roughness or ledge on an otherwise smooth root surface.
• Tip care: a bent or blunted tip loses tactility; replace the insert or the instrument rather than straightening it.

Versions, Coatings and Handles

The ZEPF-bIONIK handle is Zepf’s ergonomic, colour-coded handle with a textured grip that reduces hand fatigue. TOUCHGRIP is the Hürzeler / Zuhr series built for rotational control in surgical work, with matte working tips.
