Dental Impression Trays by Helmut Zepf

Dental Impression Trays by Helmut Zepf

Our dental impression trays by Helmut Zepf are reusable stainless steel trays for taking precise alginate, silicone and polyether impressions. Rigid, autoclavable and made in Germany, they hold their shape under load so the impression material sets without distortion.

Tray Styles in This Collection

  • Ehricke model trays (28.601): perforated full-arch trays in figure sizes 0–4 for mechanical retention of the impression material.
  • Standard perforated trays (28.606): perforated stainless steel trays in figure sizes 0–4 for everyday full-arch impressions.
  • Unperforated lower trays (28.636): smooth-walled INF B trays for use with tray adhesive.
  • Implantology trays (28.640): upper-jaw trays for implant impression techniques.

Why Stainless Steel Trays?

Metal trays do not flex when the impression is removed, which protects accuracy for crown, bridge, implant and orthodontic work. Unlike disposable plastic trays, they can be cleaned in the washer-disinfector and steam sterilised again and again, lowering cost per impression and plastic waste.

FAQ

How do I choose the right tray size? Figure sizes run from 0 (smallest) to 4 (largest). Try the tray in the mouth before loading it; it should cover all teeth with 2–3 mm of space for material.

Perforated or unperforated? Perforated trays give mechanical retention for alginate and silicones; unperforated trays are used with tray adhesive and allow smoother flow of material.

Can these trays be sterilised? Yes. They are stainless steel and suitable for washer-disinfector cycles and steam sterilisation at 134 °C.
