About Dr. Benno Syfrig

Dr. Syfrig holds Fellow membership in the ITI (International Team for Implantology) and has maintained ITI Speaker Status since 2018.

He is widely recognized for two landmark contributions to the field: the development and scientific evaluation of a minimally invasive surgical method for implantation in the maxillary sinus area — the sinus lift according to Benex (peer-reviewed publication: Zeitschrift für Zahnärztliche Implantologie, ZZI, 1/2010) — and the development and patenting of the Benex Extractor, an instrument for tissue-conserving tooth root extraction.

He is active in the ITI Study-Club of Central Switzerland and regularly conducts live-demo operations covering sinus lift, extraction, and soft tissue management for dentists and industry specialists. His professional memberships include:

Clinical Use

The Benex extraction system is used for tissue-conserving extraction of tooth roots and for surgical extrusion of teeth that would otherwise be considered unrestorable, as described in the study above. The SinusLift set and the graduated Benex and Cacaci elevators are used for internal (crestal) sinus lift, where the sinus membrane is raised through the implant osteotomy and the elevation depth is read against the scale.

Care and Reconditioning
