Clinical Use
Use a slim taper or small round head to clear the sulcus and shape the nail edge, and a small round bur to work into a corn. Busch notes that cone-shaped heads protect the nail wall. Keep speeds within the maximum printed on each pack; small heads tolerate higher speeds than large ones.
Care and Reprocessing
Clean, disinfect and sterilize Busch podiatry burs after every patient following Busch's reprocessing instructions and the symbols on each pack; use a bur stand so cutting edges never touch. Never exceed the maximum speed printed on the pack, and run larger heads slower than small ones, especially when working dry. Our Bur Reprocessing & Sterilization Guide and Bur Speed Chart cover the workflow.

FAQ
Which bur is best for the nail sulcus?
A slim taper (cone) round diamond such as the 850 or 856 in 1.2–1.6 mm, or a small MIDIS carbide, lets you work along the nail edge with control.
What are MIDIS and SHORTIES?
Busch MIDIS and SHORTIES are compact versions of its standard carbide cutters, for more control in tight areas.
Will these burs fit my podiatry drill?
Yes. HP burs have the standard 2.35 mm straight-handpiece shank that podiatry handpieces take. FG burs (marked FG) are friction-grip instruments for podiatry units with a turbine and cooling water.
Where are Busch podiatry burs made?
In Engelskirchen, Germany. Busch & Co., founded in 1905, makes every podiatry instrument there under ISO 13485 certification.
