Clinical Use

After reduction, smooth the nail surface with a fine-cut carbide or fine diamond, round off edges, then polish with silicone polishers. Busch lists the anthracite polishers for polishing and the khaki polishers for end polishing, and the microfiber buff for a final high-luster finish.

Care and Reprocessing

Clean, disinfect and sterilize Busch podiatry burs after every patient following Busch's reprocessing instructions and the symbols on each pack; use a bur stand so cutting edges never touch. Never exceed the maximum speed printed on the pack, and run larger heads slower than small ones, especially when working dry. Our Bur Reprocessing & Sterilization Guide and Bur Speed Chart cover the workflow.

FAQ

What order should I use these in?

Fine-cut carbide or fine diamond first, then extra-fine diamond, then silicone polishers, finishing with a buff if you want a high luster.

Will these burs fit my podiatry drill?

Yes. HP burs have the standard 2.35 mm straight-handpiece shank that podiatry handpieces take. FG burs (marked FG) are friction-grip instruments for podiatry units with a turbine and cooling water.

Where are Busch podiatry burs made?

In Engelskirchen, Germany. Busch & Co., founded in 1905, makes every podiatry instrument there under ISO 13485 certification.
