Speed and Technique

Finishing burs work at reduced pressure: use them with water spray in the contra-angle or high-speed handpiece and let the blade count produce the surface; heavy pressure only dulls them. Maximum recommended speeds for every Busch shape are in our Dental Bur Speed Chart, and reprocessing steps in the Bur Sterilization Guide.
