About the Cool Diamant Series
The Cool Diamant range is designed to reduce heat generation during cutting, supporting patient comfort and preserving the integrity of surrounding tooth structure. The coarse grit provides rapid material removal, making this bur an ideal choice for the initial stages of cavity preparation. Each bur in the pack is manufactured in Germany
to uphold strict quality standards.
Independent Research: Test Winner at Innsbruck
In an independent laboratory study at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Busch’s COOL DIAMANT design achieved the highest cutting performance in both test series — outperforming same-shape, same-grit diamonds from up to ten competing manufacturers. Under standardized conditions (200,000 rpm turbine, constant 152 g load, 10–40 minutes of continuous cutting on 99.5% Al₂O₃ ceramic), the COOL DIAMANT instrument removed significantly more material than burs from Diatech, Edenta, Horico and Komet (p < 0.05), and in the second series the standard Busch diamond placed second only to its cooling-groove sibling. The authors concluded that instruments with cooling grooves deliver higher grinding performance and need replacing less often.

FAQ
What procedures is this bur designed for? The cool diamant coarse diamond dental bur is optimized for cavity and fissure preparation, providing efficient cutting during the initial phases of restorative treatment.
What does the green ring designation indicate? The green ring identifies the bur as coarse grit, meaning it is intended for aggressive stock removal rather than fine finishing or polishing.
Is this bur compatible with standard high-speed handpieces? Yes, the FG (friction grip) shank is compatible with standard high-speed dental handpieces used in clinical practice.
