German craftsmanship is at the core of every cool diamant fine diamond dental bur produced under the Busch brand. The red ring color coding immediately identifies the fine grit specification, enabling efficient instrument selection chairside and reducing the risk of grit mix-ups in a busy clinical environment.
Why Choose This Bur?
When precision and reliability matter most, the cool diamant fine diamond dental bur offers the performance dental professionals expect. The torpedo form factor is particularly well-suited to shoulder and chamfer margin preparation, providing clinicians with the tactile feedback and cutting efficiency needed for high-quality restorative work.

Independent Research: Test Winner at Innsbruck
In an independent laboratory study at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Busch’s COOL DIAMANT design achieved the highest cutting performance in both test series — outperforming same-shape, same-grit diamonds from up to ten competing manufacturers. Under standardized conditions (200,000 rpm turbine, constant 152 g load, 10–40 minutes of continuous cutting on 99.5% Al₂O₃ ceramic), the COOL DIAMANT instrument removed significantly more material than burs from Diatech, Edenta, Horico and Komet (p < 0.05), and in the second series the standard Busch diamond placed second only to its cooling-groove sibling. The authors concluded that instruments with cooling grooves deliver higher grinding performance and need replacing less often.
