The Osteotome Insert, Angulated, Size 1 is a component of the VGO Ost-Set, angulated (posterior) osteotome kit, developed by Dr. Pavel Krastev DDS as part of the patented VGO Ost-Set system (U.S. Patent No. 9,333,058 B1). It is one of eight graduated angulated osteotome inserts, numbered 1 through 8, used for atraumatic ridge expansion in posterior implant site preparation.

Product Overview

This size 1 insert has a tapered working end of Ø 1 – 3 mm with a convex shank diameter of Ø 3 mm. Unlike the straight kit's threaded tips, angulated inserts are unthreaded since turning motion is limited by the angled approach; a 5 mm mark on every tip indicates the minimum recommended bone threshold for crestal lift.

FAQ

Why are angulated inserts unthreaded? Because the angled approach limits turning motion, so the design forgoes threading in favor of the same passive-engagement taper geometry as the straight kit.

What does the 5 mm mark on the tip indicate? It marks the minimum available bone recommended for a crestal sinus lift, giving the clinician a visual threshold during use.

What are the tapered and shank dimensions of size 1? Size 1 has a tapered working end of Ø 1 – 3 mm and a convex shank diameter of Ø 3 mm.
