Dr. Otto Zuhr is a board-certified specialist in periodontology and one of the most respected figures in periodontal and implant dentistry worldwide. DMD and PhD-qualified, Dr. Zuhr studied dentistry at RWTH Aachen University from 1986 to 1992, earning his DMD degree from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Aachen. He operates a private practice in Munich, Germany, alongside Prof. Dr. Markus Hürzeler, with a clinical focus on advanced periodontics and implant surgery.

Clinical Expertise & Academic Contributions

With more than 25 years of clinical and teaching experience, Dr. Otto Zuhr has built an internationally recognized reputation extending well beyond Europe. His doctoral thesis addressed oral soft tissue reconstruction and soft tissue replacement grafts, and his ongoing research centers on oral soft tissue wound healing and reconstruction. From 2007 to 2014, he served as a board member of the German Society of Periodontology (DGParo). He also holds an associate professorship at the Department of Periodontology at Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

Dr. Zuhr has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles in periodontology and implant dentistry.
