The Expansion Screw 3.0 x 4.5 mm x 14.5 mm from Helmut Zepf GmbH (item no. 47.565.09) is the largest helical spreader in the Bone Expander System. Used as a minimally invasive alternative to osteotomes, the screw is threaded into the resorbed ridge to expand and condense cancellous bone in a controlled manner, giving higher primary stability for subsequent implant insertion.

This expansion screw (Ø 3.0 mm tip, Ø 4.5 mm maximum, 14.5 mm long) is threaded into a narrow ridge to expand and condense the bone around it, as a screw-driven alternative to malleted osteotomes. The screws are used in ascending diameter until the site reaches the width needed for the implant. It is the largest screw, used last for wide sites.
