Nizam Ring Punch with 5 mm Depth Stop - Inside Ø 4 mm, Outer Ø 7 mm | Helmut Zepf No. 08.921.00
The NIZAM Ring Punch from Helmut Zepf GmbH (item no. 08.921.00) is a single-use soft-tissue punch for harvesting ring-shaped keratinized tissue grafts (kTG), mainly from the maxillary tuberosity. Keratinized tissue grafts are the gold standard for root coverage and peri-implant soft tissue augmentation, but conventional harvesting is technique-sensitive and can cause donor-site bleeding, pain, and flap necrosis. The ring method simplifies this: the punch creates two concentric circular incisions of uniform depth in one pass, and the ring graft is lifted with a fine elevator by blunt dissection, leaving a soft tissue island in the donor area that heals by clot formation without sutures.
Key Features
- Two Concentric Blades: Inner Ø 4 mm, outer Ø 7 mm — yields a ring graft of uniform thickness.
- 5 mm Depth Stop: Surgical body length 5 mm limits penetration to the bone surface.
- Contra-Angle Shank: Used at approximately 50 rpm without irrigation.
- Single Use: Supplied sterile for one procedure.
Clinical Application
Peri-implant soft tissue augmentation, root coverage, papilla reconstruction, and alveolar ridge preservation. Place the punch perpendicular to the tissue surface at least 1 mm from neighboring teeth; advance until it reaches bone, then remove gently. Companion instruments: Bone Ring Knife / Adenoid Curette 47.520.23 and Ring Breaker 47.520.25.

FAQ
Is this a rubber dam punch? No. The NIZAM Ring Punch is a rotary soft-tissue punch for harvesting keratinized tissue grafts from the palate or tuberosity.
Is the donor site sutured? No — the ring technique leaves a central tissue island, and the donor area is left to heal by blood clot formation between the tissue surfaces.

This Nizam ring punch (inner Ø 4 mm, outer Ø 7 mm, 5 mm depth stop) cuts a ring of soft tissue for a free gingival or ring-shaped graft, or exposes an implant while leaving a collar of tissue. The 5 mm depth stop limits the cut so the punch does not reach bone. This is one of the small outer-ring sizes.
