Academic and Clinical Career

Early in his career, Dr. Markus Hürzeler served as Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Houston Dental Branch from 1991 to 1993. After earning his PhD (Docent) from Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany, he established a private practice in Munich specializing in advanced periodontal and implant therapies.

In 2002, he was appointed Professor of Dentistry at Albert-Ludwigs University and has since held clinical and associate professorships at both the University of Texas in Houston and Albert-Ludwigs University's Department of Preventive Dentistry and Periodontology.

Publications, Education, and Leadership

Dr. Markus Hürzeler has authored over 150 scientific publications spanning implantology, tissue regeneration, and periodontal surgery, and lectures internationally on these subjects. In 2008, he co-founded an educational initiative dedicated to advancing clinical standards in implant dentistry and periodontics.
