Dr. Otto Zuhr

Dr. Otto Zuhr, DMD, PhD, is a board-certified specialist in periodontology and a leading expert in periodontal and implant dentistry. He studied dentistry at the University of Aachen (RWTH Aachen) from 1986 to 1992, after which he received his DMD degree from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Aachen. Dr. Zuhr operates a private practice in Munich, Germany, together with Prof. Dr. Markus Hürzeler, focusing on advanced periodontics and implant surgery.

With more than 25 years of clinical and teaching experience, Dr. Zuhr has established himself as a recognized specialist well beyond Europe. His doctoral thesis concentrated on oral soft tissue reconstruction and soft tissue replacement grafts, and his research continues to focus on oral soft tissue wound healing and reconstruction. From 2007 to 2014 he served as a board member of the German Society of Periodontology (DGParo). He holds an associate professorship at the Department of Periodontology at Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

Dr. Zuhr has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles in periodontology and implant dentistry and is co-author of the widely respected book Plastic Esthetic Periodontal and Implant Surgery. He regularly lectures at international conferences and educational programs on clinical periodontal and implant surgical techniques.
