Broad occlusal surfaces: finishing large posterior composite and amalgam restorations in fewer passes.
Lingual and palatal finishing: smoothing wide concave surfaces on anterior crowns and veneers.
Bulk smoothing: removing flash and high spots before a smaller egg or polisher refines the detail.

At 2.3 mm the No. 7408 is the largest egg finisher; use the No. 7406 (1.8 mm) or No. 7404 (1.4 mm) where the anatomy is tighter.

Speed and Technique
