About Dr. Pavel Krastev, DDS
Dr. Pavel Krastev graduated at the top of his class from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1993 and immediately combined active clinical practice with academic engagement. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the NYU College of Dentistry's Continuing Education program (CAPPA) early in his career while simultaneously building his private practice in New Hyde Park, New York.
In 2004, Dr. Krastev completed a rigorous two-year implant training program at NYU's Implant Department and was subsequently invited to serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the implantology continuing education program — a role he maintained for over a decade. Over the course of his career, he has developed and patented multiple dental products now available on the market.
Collaboration with Helmut Zepf GmbH
Each Dr. Pavel Krastev Instrument in this collection reflects his close partnership with Helmut Zepf GmbH, a German manufacturer of dental and surgical instruments. Dr. Krastev serves as a key opinion leader and development partner for Helmut Zepf, contributing directly to the advancement of instrument design and clinical utility. The products listed below represent the fruits of this ongoing collaboration.
Broader Contributions to Dentistry
Beyond instrument development, Dr. Krastev has cultivated a strong clinical interest in platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) therapy and holds a leadership role as Chairman of Social Media Operations at the Global Summit Organization, where he promotes peer-to-peer knowledge sharing across the dental community. He is also a co-author of the book The Power of DR.
His commitment to lifelong learning extends beyond dentistry — including pursuits such as flying lessons — making every Dr. Pavel Krastev Instrument a product of both deep clinical insight and a continuous drive for innovation.
Clinical Use
The VGO Ost-Sets are osteotome kits for implant surgery in a straight (anterior) and an angulated (posterior) version; the straight screw osteotome inserts, angulated osteotome inserts and precision marking tips (scale 8/10/13/16 mm) are also sold individually. The Abutment Holding Instrument holds abutments and uses replaceable silicone tips, and the Endo Cube Master Cone Organizer keeps fitted master gutta-percha cones in canal order during obturation.
Care and Reconditioning
Clean, inspect and sterilize the instruments after every use following your practice protocol; our Surgical Instrument Reprocessing & Sterilization Guide covers the general workflow for Helmut Zepf implant instruments.
