Sinus Lift Instruments

Sinus lift instruments are the elevators, curettes, and raspatories that free and lift the Schneiderian membrane for crestal (internal) and lateral-window sinus floor elevation. This collection holds the Helmut Zepf instruments made in Germany: the graduated Benex and Cacaci SinusLift elevators to Dr. Syfrig's specifications (No. 41.848.41–.43) and the Cacaci/Syfrig internal set (41.848.40), the Kirsch sets (24.995.00, 24.995.00S), Dr. Shakibaie's microscopic sinus-lift curettes #1–#7 and set (41.847.00–.10), the Dr. Meiselbach curettes (41.848.51–.53), the Dr. Ho-Hi blunt elevators (41.854.13, .23), the blunt and sharp double-ended curettes (41.846.60, .80; 41.848.01–.08), and the Sinus 0 universal raspatories (41.747.03, .03S).

Every instrument in the collection is made of German surgical stainless steel, fully autoclavable, and shaped to detach the membrane with the least risk of perforation.

Which Sinus Lift Instrument Do You Need?

Choose by technique: the graduated Benex/Cacaci elevators and the Cacaci–Syfrig set are for the crestal (internal) lift; the Kirsch sets, blunt curettes, and Sinus 0 raspatories are for the lateral window; the Shakibaie curettes are for work under the microscope. Clinical Use

In a lateral-window lift the Sinus 0 raspatory starts the dissection at the window edge, the blunt curettes and elevators lift the membrane off the floor and walls, and the sharp 41.848 curettes handle septa and tougher attachments; in a crestal lift the graduated Benex and Cacaci elevators are advanced through the osteotomy to lift the membrane a measured distance. The 2.3–3 mm microscopic curettes of the Shakibaie set are made for the small access of a microscopically guided elevation, where their fine ends work inside the window under magnification.

Care and Reconditioning

Sinus curettes and elevators are cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized between patients; exchangeable inserts and QuickFix inserts come off their handles for reprocessing, and a working end that has been bent or nicked should be reconditioned before it touches a membrane again.
