The Onyx hand instruments collection brings together every Helmut Zepf instrument finished with the hard, non-reflective Onyx working-end coating — the glare-free black surface that reduces light reflection under operatory and loupe illumination while adding wear resistance to the working tips. From Xcision-Line® extraction forceps and X-Tool root tip elevators to Onyx-coated raspatories, periotomes, tunneling instruments, retractors, supercut scissors, and composite instruments, each piece is manufactured in Germany by Helmut Zepf Medizintechnik.

The Onyx coating is applied to the working ends of instruments across the ZEPF surgical, extraction, soft-tissue, and restorative programs — look for the OX suffix in the Helmut Zepf reference number or “Onyx Coating” in the product name.
