Design Notes
Nanopal® coating: the black crystalline nano-coating raises surface hardness to 4,500 Vickers — the highly tempered cutting edge stays aggressive and sharp far longer and does not need resharpening after each curettage, while the scratch-resistant black surface is easy to clean and prevents light reflections.
Clinical Use
Nanopal-coated replaceable tips are used for scaling and root planing: Gracey M5 tips for area-specific subgingival work, Langer tips as universal curettes for the indicated tooth regions, and sickle scaler tips for supragingival calculus removal. Because each tip threads into a QuickFix handle, a dull or damaged working end is replaced while the handle stays in service.
Care and Reconditioning
Tips are changed with the Zepf key for exchanging tips. Clean, disinfect and sterilize tips and handles after each use according to the Helmut Zepf instructions; our Dental Instrument Reprocessing & Sterilization Guide covers the workflow step by step, and worn tips can be replaced or sent to our sharpening and reconditioning service.

FAQ
Which handles do Nanopal QuickFix replaceable tips fit? They thread into ZEPF bIONIK, LOTUS and Z-SHAPE Relax QuickFix handles.
What does M5 mean in the Zepf number? M5 marks the deep-scaling versions of the Gracey and Langer tips; numbers without M5 are the standard tips.
Do Nanopal tips need resharpening? The Nanopal coating keeps the cutting edge sharp far longer, so the tip does not need resharpening after each curettage; when it eventually dulls, simply replace the tip.
How do I change a tip? Use the Helmut Zepf safety key for exchanging tips to unscrew the old working end and thread in the new one.
